Webinars provide you the opportunity to:

  • chat directly with an admissions staff member what you need to know as an international student
  • receive more information about the English Language Institute
  • ask questions about academic and student life and
  • communicate with a current international student

This is a great opportunity for you to join other international students for an exciting and informative session that includes the opportunity to ask questions. Student questions range from academic programs and preparing for college in the U.S., to visas and student life. The purpose is to answer any and all questions you may have about being a student at Syracuse University

How to Log In

Required software to participate: Connect Pro only requires that you have an internet connection, a web browser, and Adobe Flash Player Version 8 or later to attend a web conference. Connect Pro supports nearly any operating system including Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris, as well as the most widely used browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari

 How to enter the webinar:

What you’ll see when you get there:

  • You will see a screen with the name “International Session”
  • Beneath that will be a login screen
  • You can enter as a guest. Type your name in the box beneath “Type your name,” then click the “Enter Room” button
  • There will be another window and you must click the button “Request Entry” on the lower left

Basic navigation:

  • To ask a question, simply type a message in the Chat Pod as you would in any instant messaging program. Then push “Enter” or click the “Send Message” button to send message

How to ask questions:

How to print out the PowerPoint presentation:

  • In the lower left corner of the Adobe Connect Meeting is a Pod “File Share”
  • The name of the power point will be listed
  • Highlight that and click on the button “Save To My Computer”
  • A new window or tab will open and you can save to a spot on your computer

How to go to the Break Out room to chat with a current student:

  • After the presenter explains the breakout room, you can ask for permission to enter.  Type your request in the Chat Pod
  • The presenter will give permission and move you to the Break Out room

What to do if you get disconnected:

  • Click the link again

How to exit the chat:

  • X (close) out of the browser
