We appreciate your role in assisting students with the college search and application process.  Your partnership is important to us and like you, we want to help students find a good fit based on their academic interests and goals.

Use the links at the upper right to quickly find helpful information. We’re also happy to answer questions via email or by phone: 315-443-3611.

Throughout the year we may communicate with high schools via email. If you would like to be added to SU’s mailing list, please email and ask to be added to the counselor/school list.

A few important things to know:

Over 200 majors and 100 minors are offered throughout SU’s nine undergraduate schools and colleges. There is usually more than one path that a student can take to achieve their academic goals. We’d be happy to help your students explore their options.

Syracuse University uses the Common Application exclusively. Students need to indicate the specific college and/or program to which they wish to be considered for admission. They are able to select up to three separate college/program choices on the application, which can include single programs or dual/combined enrollment programs.

There are several admission plans: Early Decision, Regular Decision, or Spring Admission.  Early Admission is offered for high school juniors.

Domestic students will receive electronic notification only.  International students will receive electronic notification as well as a hard copy in the mail with I-20 information.  Notification timelines:

  • Spring: begins late October
  • Early Decision: begins early December
  • Regular Decision: begins mid- to late March
