Visit Campus

One of the best ways to get a feel for Syracuse University is to visit. You’ll learn more about your academic interests, hear from current students about the learning experience and campus life, take a tour, and perhaps even check out the city and Central New York. Admissions staff are on hand to answer your questions.

Admissions Events

Admissions hosts various events throughout the year to make visiting SU both easy and informative for students and their families. Events include:

  • Fall Receptions: Most often attended by high school juniors and seniors as well as prospective transfer students, fall receptions offer insider perspectives on student and academic life, program-specific sessions, school/college open houses, lunch, residence hall and campus tours, and admissions and financial aid sessions.
  • Winter Campus Day: Generally attended by high school students in their junior year or younger, these events offer residence hall and campus tours, sessions on collegiate life, program-specific presentations, information sessions from SU’s nine schools and colleges, and overviews from admissions and financial aid staff.
  • Spring Campus Day: Following a schedule similar to Winter Campus Day, these events offer all high school students a comprehensive look at life at Syracuse University.
  • Spring Receptions: Attended by admitted students, Spring Receptions walk students through collegiate life and allow students opportunities to meet with current students, learn more about academic programs of interest, explore the campus, meet with representatives from many offices and student organizations, and have lunch in the Dome!
  • Summer Campus Days: Among the most popular admissions events, Summer Campus Days are attended by high school students regardless of grade-level, prospective transfer students, and their families. These events also follow a schedule similar to Winter Campus Days, with the exception that students are able to enjoy lunch on the quad– much like a true undergrad!
  • Syracuse Saturdays: Syracuse Saturday is a college visit like no other. Attended most often by students seriously considering SU, these events offer many of the elements of a Fall Reception with the addition of first-hand academic experience via “classes” with faculty members. Students get a deeper look into academic life, revolutionary research happening on campus, and the extensive opportunities available to Syracuse students. Representatives from admissions, financial aid, and SU Abroad are also present to answer questions.
