This past weekend was filled with everything Syracuse University! On Friday evening I joined over 70 current Syracuse students, alumni, and the community for a “Go Orange Shabbat” which was planned by our on campus Hillel. It was great to see so many familiar faces for services and a rooftop dinner. The following day, I joined over 2,000 Syracuse University students and alumni for SU Yankee Day as the Yankees took on the Baltimore Orioles! As soon as I stepped off the subway, within about 30 seconds I saw about 20 Syracuse-themed Yankee hats and there were many more to come after that! From the season-long Syracuse “New York’s College Team” sign in left field, the ACC sign on the 3rd base line, and the CUSE.com advertisement that interchanges with other digital advertisements, Syracuse University is always present at Yankee Stadium, but on this Saturday on a sunny day in June, the ‘Cuse was truly in the house! The day wouldn’t be complete without everyone’s favorite Orange friend, Otto who made his way down from campus to join in the all the fun in the Bronx! Although the Yankees were trailing the entire game and the Orioles came up with the win, it was still great to be surrounded by my Orange family; there were even numerous “Let’s Go Orange” chants!
