My first steps off of the Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747 flight, on Tuesday, January 14, were slow– I was exhausted and hadn’t slept in almost 24 hours, yet filled with so much joy and excitement. “This is it,” I thought. I had made my dream come true and I was actually in this stunning place—London—to begin my study abroad journey.
Truth is, all I wanted after arriving in Heathrow Airport was a bed, a bathroom (or a toilet I later learned it’s called here) and some food. Good thing for me, the day had only just began in London. It was 7:30 a.m.
After getting my luggage, arriving at the hotel, meeting up with my roommates (who arrived the night before from the pre-semester Ireland program) and hailing a taxi to take us to our flat, my tired feeling was erased by excitement and energy.
Our flat is gorgeous. Landlord very nice, helpful and on top of everything and my roommates are a blast. What else could I have asked for upon my first arrival in England?
