So we put our hands up, like the ceiling can’t hold us! On November 11th, the students of Syracuse University rocked the Carrier Dome as Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed while on their World Tour. As soon as Macklemore came out onto the stage, he removed his jacket to show off his customized Syracuse Orange basketball jersey. After his opening song, Macklemore started talking about what a great school Syracuse is, and how big the Carrier Dome was: “Syracuse has one of the greatest athletic programs in the country,” said Macklemore, to which the crowd erupted into a “Let’s Go Orange” chant, that even his band got into with the beats. Macklemore’s concert was one of the many stops on the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis World Tour, which was made possible after University Union worked with Peter Schwartz (’90) and his company, The Agency Group to have a stop on the tour be right here at Peter’s alma mater, Syracuse University. University Union plans annual concerts in the Fall and Spring that always feature big name artists and bands, but what made this concert special, was the fact that it was part of a World Tour, but students were able to get tickets for only $15.
