School of Education
SU's School of Education continues to set the bar for education programs across the country. With a groundbreaking program that
prepares students for certification in elementary education and special education (grades 1-6), all students studying the various
K-12 programs are prepared to enter into the nation's diverse classrooms. Upon graduation, you'll be ready to get that first job.
You'll have had more real-world field experience here than in most other education programs in other schools and universities and
you'll have started them sooner – we get our students out into the classrooms in their first year. You can also pursue one of our
highly regarded professional preparation programs in selected studies and exercise science. Exercise science prepares you for
certification in physical education (K-12) or for a career in physical therapy or a related profession. A 3+3 program with SUNY Upstate
Medical University (UMU) allows students the opportunity to spend three years in our exercise science program focusing on
physical therapy preparation and then continue with three years in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at SUNY UMU.

Marching Band, write for The Daily Orange newspaper, or take part in nearly 300 other student organizations. You'll be able to
take classes in art, psychology, history, and hundreds of other subjects. And all the while, you'll be getting an outstanding education
in computer science or a variety of engineering fields. You'll have opportunities to take part in national design competitions,
undergraduate research, and co-ops (paid internship opportunities). These are just some of the reasons that the L.C. Smith College of
Engineering and Computer Science has one of the highest graduation rates among the nation's engineering schools.

College of Human Ecology
The diverse programs in the College of Human Ecology (formerly the College of Human Services and Health Professions) promote physical,

hands-on approach to learning, our graduates easily find jobs in rewarding fields that help to improve the lives of others. The college
provides students with a small-college atmosphere within the larger University, and the small class sizes encourage close relationships
with faculty members that last long after graduation.
